Resident Expert: Bright Star

I thought I'd pop in for a quick Resident Expert Friday. I finally saw the movie "Bright Star" and day-um is it good. Seriously. Mariah was crying at the end.

Here's the trailer, if you haven't seen the movie:

Also, here is John Keats' poem that inspired the movie:

Bright star, would I were stedfast as thou art--
Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night
And watching, with eternal lids apart,
Like nature's patient, sleepless Eremite,
The moving waters at their priestlike task
Of pure ablution round earth's human shores,
Or gazing on the new soft-fallen mask
Of snow upon the mountains and the moors--
No--yet still stedfast, still unchangeable,
Pillow'd upon my fair love's ripening breast,
To feel for ever its soft fall and swell,
Awake for ever in a sweet unrest,
Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath,
And so live ever--or else swoon to death.

Sorry I don't have time to swoon over this movie more... maybe another day! Happy Friday!

Visual Inspiration

Recently I've seen other bloggers posting visual inspiration for the WIPs, so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and share mine too. Better late than never, as I say.

These images, that represent The Quiet Calling, are from WeHeartIt and other places on the internet I can't remember right now.

Anywho, I'll stop blabbing and let them speak for themselves.

Contest Winner!

*Ahem* It has been a while since the contest (signed copy of Will Grayson, Will Grayson) ended, but my internet has been spazzy. Apologies!

And now, the winner (according to is...

Congrats, Jamie! Send me an email at mariahirvin at gmail dot com and your prize will be on its way!

Now that I've done that, I must tell you guys that I'll be M.I.A. more than normal for the rest of the month. I was promoted to a full time key holder at my job and I barely have time to do anything, let alone blog. Any free time I spend on the computer I spend writing The Sequel. I'm not gonna quit blogging completely, but just know that I won't be around the blogosphere as much and I won't have a chance to read your blogs, either (which makes me sad).

If for any reason you need to contact me, I'm usually on Twitter (ever since I downloaded it onto my phone), and I can always be reached via email.

Happy July!
